Privacy Policy

Last updated October 14, 2026

This policy explains what information Klyp collects, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we need to run the Service, and we never sell personal information. The data controller is the founder of Klyp, based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and a securely hashed password (we never see or store the password itself).
  • Your Content: videos you upload or link, the audio, transcripts, detected speakers and faces used only for framing, the clips we make, and your edits and settings.
  • Billing details: your plan, subscription status and a customer ID from our payment provider. We never receive or store your card number.
  • Usage and technical data: how many minutes you used, IP address, browser type and error logs, used for security, rate limiting and fixing problems.

How we use it

  • to run the Service: process your videos, show and deliver your clips;
  • to manage your account and plan, and to send account emails (welcome, password reset, billing notices);
  • to keep Klyp secure and prevent abuse;
  • to understand and improve how Klyp works, using aggregated information.

We do not use your videos or transcripts to train AI models, and we don’t show ads. Face detection is used only to keep speakers in frame; we do not identify who people are.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run Klyp, under their own privacy and security terms:

  • DigitalOcean (USA) — hosting for the website and stored files;
  • Lemon Squeezy (USA) — payments, taxes and invoices, as Merchant of Record;
  • Brevo (France, EU) — to send account emails (confirmation, password reset, billing notices, “clips ready”);
  • Google (USA) — only if you choose “Continue with Google”: Google tells us your email address;
  • Pexels — only if B-roll is turned on, we send short search words (never your video) to fetch stock footage.

Video processing itself runs on computers operated by Klyp, not on third-party AI services. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Where data is stored

The website and your stored files are on servers in the United States (DigitalOcean). Video processing runs on computers operated by Klyp in Uzbekistan (and, when we add capacity, on rented machines in the USA or EU). By using Klyp you understand your information will be processed in these countries, with the protections described here.

How long we keep it

  • Your Content stays until you delete it or your account. Deleting a project deletes its video, transcript and clips.
  • We may automatically delete original uploads of old projects to save space, keeping your finished clips; we will tell you in the app before this applies to your plan.
  • Account and billing records are kept as long as your account exists and afterwards as long as tax law requires.
  • Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.
  • Demo sandboxes are deleted with everything in them 24 hours after they were created.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember preferences such as the theme. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can see and download your content in the app, and delete projects at any time. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by writing to our support email (listed on this page once it is set up). If you are in the EU/UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

For people in the EU, UK and similar laws (GDPR)

We use your personal data on these legal bases:

  • Contract — to run your account and process your videos, because you asked us to;
  • Legitimate interests — to keep Klyp secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (logs, rate limits);
  • Legal obligation — to keep billing and tax records;
  • Consent — for anything optional you turn on, such as browser or Telegram notifications. You can withdraw it at any time.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent. Write to our support email (listed on this page once it is set up) and we answer within 30 days. When data goes to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on our providers’ standard contractual clauses or similar safeguards. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Klyp is not for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Security

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed with scrypt, and each account can only see its own projects. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you.

Changes

We will update this page and the date above when this policy changes, and email you about important changes.
